Description

Collapsible Reel, Type CR (#176-A-78). The Bell System designed this reel for use in picking up wire in neat coils. The reel attaches to the winch shaft by means of bayonet type socket. Unit is to be put on the winch shaft applying force toward the center of the truck to compress the spring and turning the unit to lock. the design of the unit is such that after the wire is coiled up on it, the quick acting handle is used to collapse the outer rim of the pick-up reel allowing the picked up wire coil to be removed. Maximum pulling force, 4,000lbs. capacity, 1,600ft. of 1/4" wire rope or 200lbs. of wire or cable.
